We’re thrilled to dive into our fall project project: transforming the backyard of a charming 1920s Colonial Spanish home. This one’s got a special twist—we’re saying goodbye to an old 60-foot pool, broken travertine and hello to a retreat style escape. Important design elements selected for this backyard were dog-friendly, vegetable garden, formal dining and lounge setting with a fireplace for gathering.
To keep the design dry-garden friendly, we’re filling planting areas with hardy, drought-tolerant plants. Think rosemary, lavender, and sage, which not only look great but also thrive in the local climate.
This project is all about embracing the beauty and simplicity of a Mediterranean garden while honoring the historic charm of the home. We can’t wait to transform this backyard into a relaxing, stylish retreat. Stay tuned for the journey!
